Lead Instructor

North River Fire District

About Me:

I began my career in the Fire Service as a volunteer in 2004 and then accepted a paid professional position in 2005 at the North River Fire District. I have held every position on the operational side of the fire service ( Firefighter, Driver/Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief, Training Officer, and Special Ops Coordinator) and am now on the Administration side, where I have the pleasure of supporting operations and serving our great members as the Assistant Fire Chief. I spent over a decade in Local 2546 where I held the role of union steward and later, Assistant to the President, which allowed me to operate in a business agent capacity to help manage issues amongst the local. I believe that our members are the most important asset in the organization and that administrations purpose is to provide them with everything they need to do their jobs exceptionally (Servant Leadership).

I have been married to my wife (Bri) for almost ten years now, we have two boys (Caleb & Logan). We enjoy everything outdoors, traveling, anything on the water, snowboarding/skiing, and being out west.

Donald Bunch

Instructor

North River Fire District

About Me:

For the past 14 years, I've had the privilege of serving at North River Fire District, with some of the highest quality men and women in the fire service, and the last 9 of those years I’ve been a member of our Technical Rescue Team. While I'm proud of my professional journey, I believe that every day is an opportunity for growth, and I always look forward to a good challenge.

Family is my cornerstone. I've been married to my wonderful wife, Kara, for a decade now. We're blessed with three amazing children – Jaxson, 8, who's never short on questions or ideas; Cameron, 5, our ball of fire; and Kennedy, our 2-year-old Queen of the house. Balancing family with career is a constant lesson in the true meaning of patience, resilience, and joy.

In work, family, or training, my approach is simple – Stay Humble. I believe in sharing

experiences candidly and honestly, and cultivating an environment where empathy, humility, and dedication are as highly valued as technical skills.
